Honouring Our Pillars
Staff Appreciation Night 2025 The annual Staff Appreciation Night on 25 February 2025 celebrated the dedication and service of staff across both Homes. Highlights included long service awards, quiz segments and a lucky draw, all set against a backdrop of camaraderie and appreciation. The event paid tribute to the unwavering commitment of our staff, whose contributions uphold the core values of Lions Home and sustain the delivery of quality, person-centred care. Recognition Night 2024 On 30 November 2024 at Paradox Singapore Merchant Court Hotel, Recognition Night 2024 brought together those who shaped a year enriched by collective impact. Themed “Movie Night,” the celebration honoured the many cast members in our story - staff, volunteers, donors and community partners - each playing a vital role in our journey. Graced by Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, Mr Chee Hong Tat, the evening featured a curated dinner, live music, and a spirited Best Dressed Contest. A total of 86 awards were presented, alongside a special performance by Lion Tan Cheow Hung, our Secretary and Fundraising Co-Chairperson, as well as Advisor and Programme In-Charge for the event. The event was brought to life by the vision and hard work of Co-Organising Chairpersons Lions Jonathan Tan, Aranea Chua, and Dallon Cheah, closing the year on a celebratory note.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
National Gallery Spotlight: Residents’ Artwork In celebration of creativity and community, residents from Lions Home Bishan contributed an original artwork to the National Day Art Gallery at Block 170, Bishan Street 13 in August. Day The showcase offered our residents a meaningful opportunity to engage with the wider community - continuing to contribute and inspire through art.
Community Outreach Programme
Residents’ Performance at the Esplanade On 15 June 2024, Lions Home residents performed at the Vocal Associates’ 10 th Anniversary Concert at the Esplanade. Fourteen residents showcased songs in English, Malay and Mandarin - the result of a year-long vocal engagement programme co-developed with volunteer artists and therapy staff. The event highlighted music as a tool for memory retention, expression and social bonding.
On 7 October 2024 and 7 November 2024, Lions Home conducted outreach sessions at Filos Active Ageing Centre in Chai Chee. Our nursing and non-clinical teams engaged 25 to 30 seniors through blood pressure and glucose screenings, simple exercise for post bone surgery, alongside wellness talks on fall prevention, nutrition, and managing emergencies at home. The initiative reflects our commitment to healthy ageing by extending preventive care beyond our Homes - reinforcing community partnerships and early intervention as part of holistic eldercare.
