AI Can Make Regional Sport More Competitive

The jury is still out on the full implications of artificial intelligence (AI); and it is for this reason that Deputy Dean in The UWI’s Faculty of Sport Amanda Reifer thinks deeper discussions are warranted on the technology, though she believes it is a game-changer for those involved in sport.

R eifer said the fast- moving, fast-learning how business was being conducted in the areas of data analysis, equipment design, fan engagement, officiating and sport broadcasting. Her comments were made during AI had become virtually impossible to ignore and had major implications for
