BTMI Ms. Rhe-Ann Prescod , in 2023 the BTMI once again set out to celebrate women in tourism by launching a call for the people of Barbados and international markets to nominate their favourite tourism ‘superwomen’. “The objective was to highlight five women who are making a positive impact within Barbados’s tourism industry. This year, we mainly highlighted women in non-managerial roles who are instrumental in the industry. Each woman that won received special prizes handed to them personally by the Minister of Tourism and International Transport, the Honourable Ian Gooding-Edghill,” Prescod said. The BTMI representative also shared that the objective of the award is to recognise women in the industry who work assiduously but are often overlooked. “The award is to uplift and show appreciation to the women in tourism who work tirelessly to make this industry a success. We want these women to feel rewarded and know that their work does not go unnoticed. Each year, we will continue to show appreciation and celebrate all the women in tourism.” u
