N onetheless, the discussion, hosted by the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) last November, yielded critical awareness on the steps required to achieve the outlined goal. The event titled “Propelling Barbados’ International Business and Financial Sector” was moderated by Director of SALISES Professor Don Marshall and featured a distinguished panel of experts, including Vicki Marshall , Corporate Secretary and Head of Compliance and Governance, Canada Life Reinsurance (Barbados); Glenna Smith , Managing Director, Smith Compliance Consulting; and
Cave Hill took another rewarding step towards
strengthening its academy- industry relationship with the private sector when it hosted a roundtable discussion aimed at finding ways to push Barbados’s International Business and Financial Sector. The emerging consensus was that more work needs to be done if Barbados is to make greater gains in this sector.
