Awardee to focus on NCDs by Carol Williams

T he Master of Public Health (MPH) student Christopher Laurie has declared his intention to evaluate specific aspects of the policy, identify implementation gaps, and suggest areas for improvement. He said such research is essential for the country to achieve its 2030 target of a 50 per cent reduction in cases of non- communicable diseases (NCDs), that requires an all-of-society approach. In January this year, Laurie became the 2023-2024 recipient of the annual scholarship granted by the Cato Burton Foundation and the City of Bridgetown Credit Union Limited . For 15 years, the tuition scholarship has been awarded to MPH students to continue their training towards a career in public health.
