It was evident in the Final Project Presentation , held on 11 August 2023, that the 19 students were not only
from market players and leaders. Later in the day, the participants presented their capstone projects in the areas of Computer Programming and Electronics. O verall, it was another successful showing for the CSF that has had 225 students from 17 Caribbean countries graduate from SPISE in the 12 years that it has been staged. A week after SPISE culminated, the CSF hosted the Barbados Junior Robotics Camps’ Students Robotics Showcase , which featured around 55 youngsters between the ages of 10 and 18. The Barbados Junior Robotics Camp has four levels with each stage progressively more complex. It was a combination of classroom teaching and hands-on building of robots. The CSF explained that the campers were also exposed to confidence-building sessions; and social, communication and conflict- resolution skills. Their instructors were drawn from The UWI and other universities and colleges in Barbados and overseas. Dr. Dinah Sah described the entire experience as transformative for the students. u
