inquired where she could have been at that time of the week and day with a Bible, and when told of the Bible study she expressed a desire to attend, and received a most cordial invitation, the neighbor bringing her in person to the meeting the next week, From the first she manifested an intense interest, but at the close o f the lesson, in the presence of others, she declared that she could not accept the Bible as the Word o f God. She had been reading H. G. Wells, and had so greatly enjoyed his writings, it was quite impossible for her to believe that God had made such a revelation as that contained in the Bible. Not wishing to embarrass her by entering into the dis cussion before the many women who were waiting to see how the Bible teacher would do her “ personal work,” the teacher asked the privilege o f calling upon Mrs. B. at a near date. And when she called, instead o f discussing the matter o f the writings o f Mr. Wells, the teacher asked her frankly what her relation to the Lord Jesus Christ was, presenting to her the way o f salvation provided at Calvary’s cross. Mrs. B. expressed the greatest surprise at the message given her. She had in some way acquired church membership, had even taught a Sunday-school class back East, but admitted that she had never been born again, and indeed could hardly believe that she needed the new birth. A fter again presenting the way of salvation the Bible woman, fearing to force her into a second pro fession, beyond the work o f the Spirit of God, left her with a copy o f the tract, “ The Message o f the King,” ask ing her to settle the matter with God Himself, and bring to her her written decision at the next meeting of the club. The woman was so very worth-while that there was much prayer made to God to guide in her decision, and it was with a full heart that the Bible woman saw her come into the room and seat herself in a chair in the most remote corner of the room on the following Wednesday. It was for only a moment, however, when she rose, crossed the room and placed in the Bible woman’s hands the tract which she had signed, saying “ I signed it, and I wanted to sign it.” Her growth has been beautiful. She had intended moving to one of the nearby towns, but has decided to remain close to the class because o f the oppor tunity for Bible study and the sweet fellowship of the Christian women. Her face is radiant, and she joys to make the statement, “ I am a Christian.” Giving One Something to Believe A V E R Y precious by-product of one of our adult Bible Study Clubs has been the salvation o f a woman too ill to ever attend the class, too indifferent to care had she been able. It is the custom in the meetings o f this club to bear one another up in prayer, and to consult regarding the unsaved in whom the members are interested. On the occasion o f the second meeting of a newly organized club, one o f the women presented for prayer a woman dying of cancer, claiming that she had once been saved, but show ing absolutely no evidences of the new life being within her. All efforts had been spent to prove to her that she was unsaved, and it was our Bible woman’s privilege to point out that in her condition it was far better to drop the question o f the past, and simply to give the woman something to believe— to tell her how Christ had died for her. Following this method o f work, two days afterward the woman was “ gloriously saved,” as our member re ported over the phone, being too happy at the privilege of leading a soul to Christ to wait until the next meeting with the women.

praise the Lord. W e were not able to visit all the con gregations in Salvador, having received an urgent invi tation to go over to Honduras to hold some special services during one.of the native feasts. “ Consequently we left Salvador on September 1, hnd after a journey of five days over the mountains o f Hon duras on mule back, we reached Dulce Nombre. W e cel ebrated our first meeting on Monday,*..Sept. 5, and then continued on for two weeks, with two meetings daily, resulting in the confession o f thirty or more backsliders. In another service for full surrender, some fifty came for ward, indicating their desire to surrender themselves.and their all to the Lord. There were also about sixty who professed to accept the Lord Jesus Christ. “ In all the services since my arrival in Central Amer ica, the Lord has truly set His seal o f approval, and has kept me in health and strength. W e are preparing plans for a strenuous campaign o f evangelism during the next six months of dry season.” -; Part o f Mr. Pearson’s vision for the Navy boys has been to instruct them how to win souls for Christ. Taking one with him one Saturday afternoon, he entered the cabin of a Japanese radio officer. -God had already plowed the ground and the seed had been sown. When the question “ What do you know o f Jesus Christ P’lfwas asked, one made answer— “ I think He is a powerful God.” They were happy to instruct him that He was the ONE TRUE GOD and the only One who could save him. He had some Christian instruction and knew much about the Gospel. When he saw that an immediate decision was necessary, both he and his companion yielded to Christ. The Navy boy who was with Mr. Pearson was very happy to have such an experience and we must believe he caught a vision of Mr. Pearson’s deepest desire for his life. A Dutch Wireless Operator Witnesses for Christ “ A chief wireless operator on a Dutch vessel stood and listened to our conversation with another officer,” says Mr. Pearson. “ When offered Gospel literature he shook his head. W e thought this strange, owing to the fact of his interest in our dealings with his companions. He soon explained: ‘I do not need the literature, because I have the Bible, which is sufficient. I have the Holy Spirit within me since I have yielded to Jesus Christ.’ We learned in a more private conversation with him in his room that he continually gives testimony when approached upon the subject o f Jesus Christ.” Mr. Pearson had a profitable time in Bible study with this man. I N one of the Bible Study Clubs there had been earnest prayer made that some unsaved one should be brought to the Lord as the result o f the year’s work, but as the vacation period approached, the few unsaved who had been induced to attend the meetings had come only for a single visit, and none had been brought to the Lord personally. Increasing prayer was made by the members of the club, and it was decided to hold the meetings during the month of July in spite o f the fact that so many women are away during that month. Late in June one o f the members, going home from the study with her Bible in her hand, met a neighbor who — o — Teaching a Navy Boy to Win Souls — - o — Thus Did God Answer Prayer
