Founded in 2013 by HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Al Nahyan this team has dominated all over the world, attending Olympic qualifiers, Asian games and even won at the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona! 13 years on the breeding programme has never been stronger, producing on average 15-20 young horses a year, generating the next generation of future grand prix horses for the UAE owned team. The love of horses runs through the veins of HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza, who took all passion and inspiration from her grandfather the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan. Al Shira’aa has not only grown in the showjumping sector but has prospered in thoroughbred flat racing, Arabian beauty horses and dressage. The current showjumping team is made up of 4 top riders; Abdulla Al Marri, Omar Al Marzouqi, Humaid Al Kumaiti, Abdulrahman Ameen and the young and upcoming star is Shamsa Al Muhairi. All of these riders fall under a system by Saudi Olympian and team trainer Khaled Al Eid. 2022 and 2023 has been extremely successful for the team with a CSI3*-W win for Abdulla Al Marri and James VD Heihoef plus endless placings across shows in Europe and the UAE making Al Shira’aa 2nd in the leading owner board in the United Kingdom and one of the most prominent and successful showjumping teams in the UAE.
