At Lutheran SeniorLife, we believe that aging is living, and living is aging. Guided by this philosophy, our mission is to help individuals embrace each
stage of life with dignity, independence, and purpose. This year, we have taken significant steps to reposition our organization to meet the evolving needs of older adults across western Pennsylvania—strengthening housing options, enhancing care, and advancing advocacy on behalf of those we serve. In Butler, the opening of Benbrook Place reflects our commitment to person- centered care. This new personal care community was thoughtfully designed to ensure that each resident’s unique preferences and routines shape their daily experience. With its homelike environment and pathway to the full continuum of care at Passavant Community, Benbrook Place stands as a model of how compassion and choice come together to support meaningful living. At Passavant Community , we continue to grow opportunities for lifestyle-focused living. The addition of new carriage homes has been met with tremendous excitement and demand, offering residents the benefits of maintenance-free living and the enrichment of our ASPIRE® Wellness programs. These homes are more than residences—they are part of a community that fosters connection, vitality, and whole-person well-being. Meanwhile, the Visiting Nurses Association, Western Pennsylvania (VNA) , a Lutheran SeniorLife, community-focused home health care program, is celebrating its 60th anniversary by embracing innovation. Through the support of a milestone grant, the VNA is enhancing technology that empowers nurses and caregivers to deliver timely, patient-centered care in each person’s home. These tools ensure that care is not only compassionate but also efficient and responsive to the needs of patients and families. Our commitment extends beyond local communities to the national stage. Recently, we engaged congressional leaders to advocate for older adults navigating Medicaid. By addressing barriers that delay care and promoting systems that adapt to people’s needs, we are ensuring that older adults can access the support they deserve. Together, these efforts represent more than growth; they embody the spirit of Abundant Life . At Lutheran SeniorLife, we are dedicated to creating communities where aging is celebrated as a powerful continuation of life—filled with opportunity, connection, and purpose. David and Rev.
