T he latest booster pump to be released by Grundfos is SCALA1, a fully integrated, compact self- priming, pressure booster for domestic use. SCALA1 is a complete all-in-one booster pump, with an integrated pump, motor, diaphragm tank, pressure and flow sensor, controller, non-return valve, and dry-run protection providing you with optimal pressure boosting for water on demand and intelligent pump control. Recommended for boosting outside the home, for applications such as garden irrigation and light commercial applications, the SCALA1 comes with a range of new features to make installation and operation easier and more powerful than ever. To install SCALA1, simply connect the pipes, prime the pump, and plug it in. For fast and easy commissioning, configure the pump quickly and intuitively directly from the pump control panel, or connect it to your smartphone for more advanced configuration options.
BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY Continuing with Grundfos’ ambition to make pumps smarter, the SCALA1 has integrated Bluetooth to enable high customisation options. The technology allows you to connect to the pump via the Grundfos GO Remote app. This provides more advanced settings than what the control panel has to offer, as it enables the user to monitor, troubleshoot and control SCALA1 from their smartphone. Just connect to the app and follow the guided online configuration. The ability to connect and configure the pump remotely is especially great for tight spaces where accessing the pump can be tricky. TWIN PUMP OPTION The built-in multi-pump/booster technology enables twin pump connection with joint pump control. The pump can be configured to duty/ standby mode, providing redundancy in a system where you need to ensure
the water pressure supply is always available, or it can be set up as duty/ assist, doubling the output to supply more pressure to the system when needed. Configuration is done easily using the Grundfos GO Remote app, where you can also adjust the alternation setup. HOW TO REPLACE AN MQ WITH A SCALA1 You can easily replace a Grundfos MQ pump with the new SCALA1 pump using a flexible hose kit. Changing requires a minimum number of tools, including a wrench, a screwdriver, and the replacement hoses.
