BEGGS AND PARTNERS SUPPLIED THE COMMERCIAL RANGE OF IDEAL STANDARD SANITARY WARE AT ONE ELMWOOD… SANITARY WARE
P lumbers merchant Beggs and Partners were appointed by MEP contractor NUGENT to provide all the sanitary ware for the installations at the new Students’ Union building at Queen’s. The company supplied the toilets, washbasins, taps, mixers, and showers for all standard and disabled areas. All products are from the Ideal Standard commercial range. Beggs and Partners also sourced the boiling, chilling, and sparkling taps for the canteen areas at One Elmwood. The Ideal Standard range is practical and safe, without compromising on style. “We worked closely with Gerard Crane, Ideal Standards’ new Channel Director for Northern Ireland and Ireland, to achieve the desired specifications and budget for the products,” commented Alastair Scott, Group Contracts Director at Beggs
and Partners. Beggs and Partners had been working on the project for the past two years since the planning and quoting stage. CELEBRATED PARTNERSHIP One Elmwood is one of the latest projects completed in partnership with Nugent, with a portfolio that also includes the new Game Of Thrones Film Studio in Banbridge and The New University of Ulster in Belfast. “NUGENT is one of our best customers. When working with them we know it is going to be a very professional and well-done job, and that the project will run smoothly,” Alastair commented. “They have been doing this for over 50 years and know how things work.” Beggs and Partners are very proud of the results at the Students’ Union building.
“It is a very prestigious job, and it was delivered on budget and on time,” Alastair said. He was also happy to report the company has been very busy, working on several projects simultaneously. “Our managers keep on top of things. If we had only one job at a time, it would be a very boring day.” Founded in Belfast in 1960 by William Beggs, the company has branches in Ballymena, Maghera, Newtownards, Portadown, Lisburn and Derry as well as 5 branches in GB. The family-run, locally- owned business has been supplying sanitary ware and plumbing and heating services for three generations. All branches feature comprehensive retail showrooms open to the public, as well as trade counters.
