PIPE ANCHORS, BELLOWS, AND GUIDES SUPPLIER
S upplier Pipe Solutions worked closely with NUGENT to develop a cost-effective design with pipe anchors, bellows, and guides during the construction of the Students’ Union (SU) building in Belfast. It all started with an assessment of the as-built drawings by the Pipe Solutions design engineer. The pipe runs were individually evaluated considering the project specifications to determine the magnitude of the expansion. The expansion rate was then compared to 90-degree direction changes to avail of natural flexibility of the pipework where possible. “We will always try to accommodate any expansion by natural flex, trying to reduce equipment wherever possible,” explained Pipe Solutions Sales Executive Tony Ciavattella. Where natural flexibility of the pipe could
not be achieved, Pipe Solutions supplied axial expansion joints, pipe guides, and pipe anchors to accommodate the movement in line with the pipework, providing general expansion control. With so many subcontractors involved in the project, Pipe Solutions forged successful partnerships by offering outstanding service. “We were able to provide accurate and prompt designs to meet requirements based on information available on site,” Tony commented.
