Member Spotlight Mindy Warren is currently Senior Staff Analyst with Pioneer Natural Resources. During a quick trip to Midland after graduation from Angelo State University in 1990, Mindy picked up the
local newspaper, responded to an ad and thus began a very fulfilling career in the oil and gas industry that would span 27 years. As a senior member of the Division Order Department at Pioneer for the last 13 years, Mindy’s duties cover a wide range of responsibilities, which include extensive research projects, educating mineral owners, testing and training team members on new software applications and procedures and setting up Horizontal Allocation Wells. Staying current and relevant in an ever evolving industry as to drilling, technology and case law, Mindy’s greatest challenge is staying up to date. In the spirit of always seeking growth and knowledge, Mindy earned her CDOA and CPLTA six months apart in 2016. She has been actively involved with PBADOA and PALTA since their inceptions and has served in many board positions including Vice-President and President over the years. Having been raised by immigrant grandparents who spoke no English and had no formal education, Mindy’s secret to a long and deeply loved career in the industry is to look for an opportunity to learn something new every day and to make a point of being purposefully grateful every day. Her greatest source of encouragement comes from her husband of 23 years, Jay, who has been fighting his own courageous battle against cancer for the last 2 years and her wonderful, amazing 13 year old son, Jayden. Michelle provided these great tips to make each of us more successful analysts. Each and every day we strive to gather all of the puzzle pieces we use in building our ownership “picture”. These ideas can help the pieces fall into place more smoothly! 1) Build a relationship with your landman, 2) Communication is the key to success, 3) Understand how the total Land process works so you can approach questions from a position of understanding rather than frustration, 4) Do your research and make sure you can provide all the details, 5) Organize your questions and your need for the information, 6)
