Smurfit Westrock To Invest $19.3M In Mississippi Container Plant Smurfit Westrock has announced its plan to invest nearly $19.3M to expand its corrugated packaging manufacturing site in Saltillo, Mississippi. The Dublin-based packaging ecompany, with North American headquarters in Atlanta, is adding new convert- ing equipment to increase efficiency and allow the pro- duction of larger-format packaging. The project is expected to be completed by October 2026. Upon completion, the upgrade is expected to im- prove the facility’s output by about 50 percent. “The decision by the Smurfit Westrock team to expand in Saltillo reinforces what so many already know—Missis- sippi is a manufacturing powerhouse,” Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves says. “As long as companies like Smurfit We- strock continue to rely on Mississippi to get the job done right, we will continue showing the world what we can do.” “Smurfit Westrock is committed to optimizing the perfor- mance and value of its manufacturing operations,” Smurfit Westrock North America President and CEO Laurent Selli- er says. “The expansion of the Saltillo facility demonstrates our ongoing collaboration with development partners in Mississippi, increases capacity and growth within our sys- tem and supports the communities where we live and work.”

Barry-Wehmiller Names Kyle Chapman New CEO

St. Louis, Missouri based Barry-Wehmiller, has announced that Kyle Chapman will assume the role of CEO, in addi- tion to his existing role as President, effective immediate-

ly. Bob Chapman, who has served as CEO since 1975, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board and majority shareholder. The company has been led by a Chapman since 1957, when William A. Chapman became President after

joining Barry-Wehmiller four years prior. Company owner- ship was transferred to the Chapman family in 1963, and Bill’s son, Bob, joined the company in 1969. “Our primary responsibility is to ensure a business model where the people in our span of care experience meaningful work, feel safe and valued, and are confident in our shared future,” said Bob Chapman. “Through this transition, we will continue to work to- gether as father and son, as two stewards of our 12,000- plus team members.” Kyle Chapman added, “I’m honored and commmitted to building on my dad’s legacy by demonstrating that a com- pany can achieve extraordinary financial strength without compromising its commitment to people.”
