WALL TO WALL
After interminable months dominated by grey clouds, unprecedented snowfall and gale force winds, it is little surprise that we are all welcoming the spring/summer interiors trends with open arms. One glance at glossy magazines and influential Instagram accounts tells us that there will be a handful of themes that stand out this season.
It’s official: not only is wallpaper is making a comeback, it’s set to be a key trend throughout 2021. Much of its resurgence is thought to be attributed to the advancement made in new printing techniques, which allows for a far greater range of finishes. Floral motifs seem to be headline news in the world of interiors, such is the versatility they offer. From prints bold both in pattern and colour combination, to far more pared back and delicate designs, there is something to suit all tastes. Florals also seem to have the unique ability of conveying certain periods stylistically (no doubt another reason for their popularity), and can thus bring forth the comfort of chintz or indeed the pure luxe of 1920s opulent glamour effortlessly.

large range of wall-hung pieces that showcases succulents within their designs. Low maintenance but high impact, living art is a trend we think might just be here to stay.
Out go the natural and earthy tones that have dominated the design scene for some time, making way for pops of colour. Vibrant orange, jade green, intense vermillion…anything goes. Furniture especially seems to be following this movement right now, although arguably a vivid teal desk might not suit everyone’s taste and/or décor. Statement fabrics seem to be capitalising on the delightful combination of pinks, greens and blues across the board, from soft furnishings and bedlinen, to wall hangings and rugs. All of which are perfect routes to inject some of this season’s kaleidoscopic feel into your home without having to venture near a pot of paint. Although, if you were so inclined, we would invite you to look no further than Farrow & Ball’s recently released – and quintessentially summery – shade, Citrona .
