Health & Fitness Committee Report
Greetings Board of Directors. Needless to say, it's been a very different season. The covid left us closed up with not many opportunities to do what we wanted to do, but fun was still had by most. I had fun writing articles for the oracle with focus on trying to keep people motivated through health and Fitness information . We did have the opportunity to put on our 5 k walk/ run event in Febuary. We had about 70 people came out and support our event along with many fur babies. Prizes were handed out for 1st place winner across the finish line, as well the best sports outfits. Even our fur friends won for best dressed . Several other prizes were also handed out for tickets drawn. We also sold 50/50 tickets . Our goal was to help raise funds for a new rowing machine. All specs have been turned in to our General manager, and I am just waiting to hear back. A big thank you to our General Manager , Ed Vitrano and Board member, John Boudin who came out to support our event. Their presence and support was greatly appreciated. John Boudin you always go above and beyond and are always at almost all events. All your extra hard work does not go unnoticed in our community We did open the gym early with strict guidelines. We had minor issues with the sign in Sheets. It was at that time we had the guard shack start bringing in the signup sheets on Sundays and Wed. The biggest issue was people signing up and then not showing up . We had the guard shack review the cameras frequently to make sure we didn't have more people than what the number was required . We are excited to gather in October and put all other goals together for the season. I would personally like to thank my team for all their help . Kathy Oedekirk, Maryellen Muir, Roberta Niers and Keith Hilner . We are all looking forward to an exciting new season .
