Background: Many owners have announced their concerns about ORPS facilities being used for private tournaments. These private events are not open to all owners or renters and prevent others from using the sport facilities. These private events have become a point of dissension. In the spirit of fairness and harmony, private sport events should no longer be allowed within our resort. I suggest that replacement of current rule language in the Admin Policies and Procedures which states on page 8 under section titled Specific Committees: The Golf, Tennis, and Pickleball Committees shall approve all special events and tournaments for their sport, with the following exceptions: a. Board approval is required for all private Owner tournaments that are held on Saturday, Sunday or on a Holiday. b. Board approval is also required for all tournaments where the majority of tournament participants are non- Owners and consequently Owners are unable to have full use of the golf course or sport courts during the tournament play. Furthermore, I suggest deletion from ORPS Rules and Regs under section 4-Golf, subsection 4C General Rules & Regulations, number 12 which currently states: Private owner functions will not be held on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays. Permission for any exceptions must have approval of the Board. Motion(s) for Consideration: To approve a 1st Reading of an amendment in the Admin Policies & Procedures, Specific Committees of ORPS, and publish them for posting of 28 days as required by law AND To approve a 1 st Reading of an amendment in the Rules and Regs, which deletes section 4 Golf, subsection 4C 12, and publish them for posting of 28 days as required by law Designated Funding: N/A
