Cautions & Warnings

Attention Dealers Oregon® urges you to read and follow all of these safety guidelines when selecting, installing, servicing or operating any outdoor power equipment. Encourage your customers to do the same.

Flywheel Key

Throttle Cable

WARNING: • Do not strike the flywheel with a hammer or hard object because the flywheel may shatter during later operation. CAUTION: • Remove and ground spark plug wire • Disconnect battery at negative terminal. (for electric start engines only) • Refer to owner’s manual and follow safety warnings

CAUTION: • Wear eye protection and gloves when opening package and handling throttle cable • Disconnect battery at negative terminal. (for electric start engines only) • Refer to owner’s manual and follow safety warnings.

Trimmer Line & Trimmer Head

WARNING: Wear eye and hearing protection: • Thrown objects and loud noise can cause severe eye injury and hearing loss. • Wear eye protection meeting ANSI Z87.1 standards and ear protection when operating this unit. • Use a full face shield when needed. Keep bystanders away: • Keep all bystanders, especially children and pets, at least 50 feet (15m) from the operating area. Thrown objects and rotating cutter can cause severe injury: • Do not operate without the cutting attachment shield in place. Keep away from the rotating cutting attachment. • Do not install Oregon®trimmer heads on any trimmer capable of spinning the attachment faster than 10000 RPM. • Refer to owner’s manual and follow safety warnings • Refer to trimmer line installation instructions provided with aftermarket trimmer heads. (See Trimmer Lines & Heads section for additional Cautions and warnings specific to Trimmers & Brushcutters)

Fuel Caps

WARNING: • Never operate equipment without fuel cap in place • Allow engine to cool before removing fuel cap

Other Fuel Related Components

WARNING: Gasoline and its vapors are extremely flammable. Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death. • Never smoke when working on fuel system components • Keep gasoline away from sparks, open flame, pilot lights, and other ignition sources • Shut off fuel before removing the fuel filter

Spark Plug Removal

CAUTION: • Remove and ground spark plug wire • Disconnect battery at negative terminal. (for electric start engines only) • Refer to owner’s manual and follow safety warnings • Allow engine to cool before removing spark plug
