LIA Quality Assurance (LIAQA) Scheme As representatives of the lighting industry, one of the core principles of LIA Membership is that our members operate a suitable quality system, ensuring compliant products are placed on the market. The LIA offers a robust quality assurance scheme, developed for companies who feel that ISO:9001 may not fully address their needs, that is specific to lighting organisations. LIA members have the option to use the LIAQA scheme to demonstrate their commitment to quality and good practice, or as an extension to their existing ISO accreditation. The scheme aims to ensure suppliers of lighting have appropriate verification, validation, monitoring, measurement, inspection requirements, and test activities specific to the product(s) it offers to the market. Benefits of participating include: • Tailored assessments specific to lighting manufacturers and suppliers • Assessments are carried out by technical experts in lighting products • A full review of product technical files to ensure businesses are ready for any requests made by Trading Standards, the EU Market Surveillance Authorities, and others • Flexible approach to assessment with guidance and support throughout • Assessors work with companies on their compliance journey We recognise that all businesses are different and may be at difference stages with their compliance, which is why the ethos behind the LIAQA is to work with members to ensure they meet relevant legislation and legal obligations via a supportive quality management solution rather than a generic approach with over-emphasis on inspection and audit. LIAQA is not a product certification scheme but fully complements companies who may also use the LIA Laboratories Verified Scheme.
