A transformative step forward for Ardmac.

In July 2024, Ardmac was acquired by Purever Industries. Ardmac’s outstanding reputation in the industry made the idea of closer collaboration incredibly compelling for Purever. Outside of Ireland, Ardmac has a strong presence in the UK, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Finland, Germany, and Switzerland. Ardmac has grown in recent years to become a leading provider of clean, technical, and working environments to the life sciences, data, micro-electronics, EV battery and industrial sectors across Europe, employing 500 people. Since its establishment in 1977, Ardmac has consistently built and enhanced its standing as a leader in the field. Purever has had the privilege of working alongside Ardmac on various international projects over the years, and their exceptional team and consistent delivery of excellence have always impressed me—it’s what we often refer to as “the Ardmac way.” Purever and Ardmac share a strong alignment in values and a mutual dedication to delivering high-quality products and services that meet and exceed client expectations.

Both organisations prioritise the customer experience, and our processes are designed to reflect this commitment. For Purever, this partnership also represents an opportunity to learn from Ardmac’s success, particularly their service-focused approach, which complements our industrial culture. Ardmac’s client-centric ethos is pivotal to their growth and development, and their ambition to build a sustainable future resonates strongly with Purever’s vision. We’re excited to integrate more closely and build upon the remarkable foundation Ardmac has established, as we continue this shared journey of innovation and excellence. This transition marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we are confident it will bring even greater opportunities for success and collaboration.

OUR PEOPLE

Proactively Promoting a Diverse & Inclusive Workplace.

Ardmac continues to create and promote an increasingly diverse and inclusive workplace in an industry where Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) have faced their fair share of challenges. We recognise that we are not where we would like to be just yet, but we are proud to be a leader in advancing inclusivity in our sector. We know that it is essential to match our ambitions with actions and have now adopted a formal approach to ensuring an inclusive and diverse workplace culture can thrive. To ensure our policies and procedures, the backbone of our organisational structure, authentically reflect our commitment to DEI, we have partnered with the Irish Centre for Diversity (ICD). Our efforts to enhance these were recognised through achieving Bronze accreditation from the ICD, a significant achievement for our business. In 2023, we built on this recognition and were honoured to achieve Silver accreditation—a milestone that underscores our dedication to embedding diversity into the core of our business. For us, this accreditation is more than a badge; it’s a symbol of our efforts to put our aspirations into practice, and it sends a strong message that DEI is essential to our people, and therefore, essential to our business.

Enhancing our Efforts As we continue to grow, Ardmac is acutely aware of the need to grow our DEI efforts at pace. To do this, we are prioritising our data collection and processing to gain deeper insights that will allow us to target even more impactful initiatives. We are now tracking the 28 nationalities that make up our diverse team and reporting our monthly gender balance ratio, which currently stands at 78% male to 22% female. Although this ratio isn’t yet where we want it to be, we are proud of the fact that it is ahead of the industry norm and we’re actively working to improve it through implementing more inclusive recruitment practices. Ardmac also believes in using our voice as a leader in the sector to proactively influence others. We do this through targeted DEI-focused initiatives including sponsorship of industry events like the Construction Industry Federation’s (CIF) International Women’s Day conference. We take great pride in supporting our people to flourish in an inclusive and respectful workplace. Ardmac’s ambition is to encourage others to join us in creating a more diverse and inclusive industry where all talent is actively sought out and celebrated.

Ethically and responsibly managing all aspects

of our operations. Our Sustainability Journey:

We have placed SkyBlue at the heart of Ardmac’s agenda.

For us, sustainability is so much more than something we aspire towards—it’s embedded in our culture. We have now successfully integrated sustainability into our long-term strategy and our daily operations. We believe that the choices we make today will have a lasting impact. We also know that we’re not quite there yet and we have much more to do, but we are resolutely committed to fostering a cleaner, greener future for generations to come. Through our dedicated environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programme, SkyBlue, Ardmac is moving forward with purpose and responsibility, as we strive to create meaningful change in our industry.

OUR SUSTAINABILITY ROADMAP

Ardmac is fully committed to ethically and responsibly managing all aspects of our operations with respect to our employees, clients, neighbours, local communities, and all stakeholders. When we succeed, our staff, community and society does too. By encouraging wellbeing, giving back to our community and working in sustainable ways, we not only improve people’s lives but also our business. Our Sky Blue program is our ESG framework guiding our responsible business approach and outlining our sustainability commitments.

“It’s taken time but our sustainable practices are now firmly embedded in our corporate agenda. We don’t just talk about sustainability, there’s real substance behind our actions, and we aim to have authentic, transparent conversations about our progress along the way.”

46 A We will ensure future compliance and drive progress towards our sustainability goals.

We have integrated sustainability into our corporate agenda, mirroring our past success in health and safety. Our leader-led ESG group oversees progress, guided by an action plan addressing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Partnering with EcoVadis, CDP, and SBTi, we continuously benchmark and improve our practices to ensure compliance and advance our sustainability goals.

Action. Sustainability in Action Right now, we are implementing both large and small scale sustainability initiatives across Ardmac. Through actions such as modelling embodied carbon on all our projects, Ardmac is making steady progress towards delivering a measurable and impactful sustainability framework. Our approach is enabling us to assess the carbon footprint of our projects early i n the design phase, allowing for better informed customer decisions on material selection and design methodologies.

OUR SUSTAINABILITY ROADMAP

“Influencing our supply chain is an important part of Ardmac’s sustainability strategy. It allows us to have an impact beyond our immediate operations and amplifies our ability to make a tangible difference.”

Enabling Greater Impact Ardmac is equally committed to supporting our supply chain to enhance their ability to have a sustainable impact. As part of our sustainability strategy, we are actively influencing our suppliers, increasingly requiring them to meet enhanced environmental standards on the products and services they provide. Recently, we worked in close collaboration with Dagard, a leading industry supplier and Purever Group partner, to secure Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). This innovative partnership approach to sustainability has set an industry benchmark for cleanroom materials and showcasing Ardmac’s commitment to extend sustainability beyond our own operations. Achieving ISO 20400 certification in sustainable procurement has been a major milestone in our ESG journey. This certification allows us to set robust, ethical procurement standards, ensuring that our commitment to sustainability is replicated throughout the supply chain. Through encouraging our suppliers to pursue EPDs for their products and prioritising partnerships with those who are environmentally responsible, Ardmac is amplifying our impact on enabling a more sustainable future, driving change throughout our industry.

Supported by our skilled inhouse BIM team, we are currently developing a sustainability labelling system for our modular projects that aims to establish a clear measure of project sustainability, similar to the Building Energy Rating (BER) system. Through prioritising materials with lower embodied carbon, we’re actively supporting our customers to meet their ESG targets while contributing to a more sustainable construction process overall.
