ABOUT US
The beef industry runs through the Davis blood, and has for almost two centuries. Since 1850, the Davis family has been in the cattle business, and has seen an assortment of breeds cross through their Ford City, Pennsylvania gates. For the last decade or so, Craig Davis has focused on Red Angus, with an appreciation for their maternal instincts and strong adaptability to all conditions. Craig purchased his first Red Angus female from Swank Farm, which makes them a natural collaborator on the Keystone Elite sale, held every spring. Beyond the herd builders he sells in the ring, Craig has other offerings throughout the year. His bulls qualify for the Pennsylvania Bull Credit Program, which enables producers to increase the value of their herd sire purchases considerably. The Swank family has been in the beef business for decades, and began focusing on registered Red Angus in 1967. The Swank Farm herd, managed by Jim Jones, consists of roughly 80 cows with heifers raised as replacements and bulls curated as herd sires. Along with raising cattle, we raise our own hay with a dedicated eye to nutrition and effi- ciency of our production. “We sell cattle every day of the week!” – Jim Jones While the bulls and open heifers are primarily sold at the Keystone Elite sale, you might see Swank Red Angus at various sales such as the West Virginia Beef Expo or sold via private treaty to other Red Angus breeders. Additionally, our bulls qualify for the Pennsylvania Bull Credit Program.
