TANK CARE AND OPERATION

DOUBLE BULKHEADS OR VOID SPACES

spaces are open at all times. They may be pressurized to 1 psi for testing purposes, but other pressures may result in structural damage and leakage. DO NOT cap or plug vent holes in bottom tank voids, pads, or ring stiffeners.

COMPARTMENTS

DO NOT EXCEED WORKING PRESSURE. Check and maintain vacuum and pressure relief valves regularly. Manhole cover assemblies must be kept clean in order to permit proper sealing of gasket. Clean manhole every time before closing. Before replacing a dome, check emergency venting the needed venting volume. Failure to meet the emergency venting requirements will take the tank out of emergency venting compliance. Internal static cables must be in place for loading and unloading this equipment. Purge tank, vapor rail, vapor piping and product piping before entering or repairing. Commodity fumes may be injurious or explosive. Know what commodity was previously carried to avoid mixing of incompatible materials. Use proper cleaning solution compatible with commodity previously carried. Consult data plate for tank material, When steam cleaning, keep manhole open until tank has cooled to prevent vacuum collapse. Maintain all seals and with moderate force to avoid leakage and damage to component.
