As we embark on the journey into 2024, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Our collective success in the past year has set a high standard, and I am confident that, together, we can reach even greater heights. For the upcoming year, I encourage each of you to focus on creating moments of joy for our guests. Let's not just meet expectations but exceed them at every turn. Let's strive for excellence in everything we do, creating unforgettable experiences that leave a lasting impression. I am thrilled to share some exciting news about the culinary experiences that await us in the coming months. Get ready to embark on a culinary adventure as we welcome Burger & Lobster India's first pop-up at Grappa, promising a delightful fusion of flavours that is sure to leave a lasting impression. Additionally, we are set to continue our tradition of celebrating the rich regional cuisines of India with a legacy of home chef events at Tamra. These events aim to showcase the diversity and authenticity of our cultural heritage. In the spirit of love and celebration, our regional Valentine's Day campaign, "Layers of Love," will grace the month of February, offering a unique and heartwarming experience for our guests. Following this, March will witness the unveiling of the all-new avatar of Le Petit Chef, promising an immersive and innovative dining experience like never before. Reflecting on the remarkable house activities of 2023, I was truly inspired by the creativity, teamwork, and passion displayed by each house. In 2024, as we welcome new houses, I encourage each one of you to bring even more enthusiasm and participation to the table. Our success lies in the collective efforts of each team member, and with the formation of new houses, there's a tremendous opportunity to infuse fresh energy and ideas into our endeavours. Thank you once again for your hard work, dedication, and passion. Here's to a remarkable 2024 filled with joy, success, and shared accomplishments. Together, we can make it an extraordinary year. Dear Colleagues, It brings us immense pleasure to roll out the final edition of Adhyavat for the last quarter of 2023. Like the last quarter of the year is filled with festivities in India; I am thrilled to see reflection of the same in our last edition too. The houses made in the year came together once again to put amazing activities which were thoroughly enjoyed by the colleagues. This has brought about a new zeal amongst colleagues who look forward to organizing such fun activities. As the new year dawns on us; we promise to keep up the momentum; and make this year even more exciting for all of you. We have begun the year by relaunching new houses which are:

Welcoming our New Joiners

The Shangri-La Orientation is conducted for all the new joiners. Their four days learning journey is captured through various activities initiating a smooth transition. Welcome lunch with ExCom team members at Tamra not only helps in familiarization but also enhances their onboarding experience.

Emerging Leaders Programme

Learning and Development Opportunities of middle managers, continued with classroom sessions in the third quarter. ExCom members imparted their valuable contributions to the participants by taking them through exciting rounds of Driving Business Results, Building Collaborative Partnerships and Driving Innovation.

Culinary Centre Of Excellence

SLND launched the inaugural chapter of the Culinary Centre of Excellence, specialising in Indian cuisine. Executive Chef Gagandeep Singh Sawhney and his team put together an extraordinary two- day workshop on 30th and 31st October, honoring the exquisite flavours of India.

Culinary Centre Of Excellence

The participants included chefs from Shangri-La Istanbul, Shangri-La Dubai, Jen Maldives and faculty members of various hospitality institutes. Two day program included redefining the art of kebabs, tricks of Indian sweets and new trends of street food of India. The participants enjoyed the Regional Indian breakfast and explored the culinary spice market behind Jama Masjid in Old Delhi. The workshop was culminated with dinner at Indian Accent which is Asia’s 19th best restaurant.

First Aid and CPR Workshop

A vital First Aid workshop was organised from Safety Circle in November, emphasizing a substantial effort to improve the safety and readiness of employees in various emergencies. The session aimed to educate and create awareness about first aid measures, emergency response procedures, and life-saving techniques, providing participants with essential knowledge to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies.

We welcomed a batch of 60 Industrial Trainees who joined SLND on 11th December 2023.They represent various IHMs from all over India. During their internship period, they will experience multiple opportunities to gain insights into the hospitality industry. INITIATIVES

Pink October We organized an event for Pink October in collaboration with Narayana Hospital. The event featured a health talk on Breast Cancer Awareness conducted by Dr. Pooja Kullar. Lady colleagues attended the informative session on October 13. The initiative aimed to spread awareness and empower the participants with knowledge about breast health and cancer prevention.

Pink October United in our efforts to raise Breast Cancer Awareness, we carried the spirit of Pink October to India Gate. Together we painted October "Pink" and supported this crucial cause. Taking strides for this powerful cause, we are also proud to have joined the Marathon representing the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign at the upcoming Noida International Airport, raising awareness in Pink throughout the month of October. Together, we aim at fighting for a future free of breast cancer.

Pink October The celebrations of Pink October continued well beyond the special events where in a special themed lunch was organised for all colleagues at our staff restaurant (Santushti) and a photo op was created for colleagues to click memorable photographs.

International Chef’s Day We decided to make International Chef’s Day special by spending some fun time with kids from Bal Sahyog (This place was founded by late Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi in 1954, for the care and protection of orphan, helpless, abandoned and neglected children). Having to cut a cake with them, serving them food, enjoying lunch with them and also decorating cookies with them was such a great experience and an awesome way to spend International Chef’s Day. Our Hygiene Manager Bharti Tandon took a session for these kids on Personal Hygiene and these brilliant kids were so enthusiastic about their learning.

CELEBRATIONS AT SLND

We embrace a heartwarming tradition, hosting a monthly thank-you party on the first day of the month. This delightful gathering serves as a token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our colleagues, fostering a positive and rewarding work environment. This provides an opportunity for the team to come together, celebrate their achievements and work collaboratively. Thank You Event

Back to School Activities by Blue Force

An unforgettable day of excitement and fun was planned by our Blue House-Blue Force on 31st October. Various fun frolic games like Balloon Race, Stack Attack, Blind Fold including a volleyball match were played. Our Red House- Sultan emerged as the winner.

Cake Mixing We celebrated our Annual Cake Mixing Ceremony, where guests and colleagues joyfully participated in combining various ingredients for the upcoming festive season. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as everyone embraced the spirit of togetherness, marking a delightful moment in the hotel's history.

Moments of Joy The MOJ program was organized to recognize colleagues who surpassed expectations by delivering exceptional service to guests on 3rd November and 27th December 2023. In commemoration of this remarkable achievement, an elegant high-tea event was arranged, presenting certificates to team members as a testament to their remarkable dedication and contribution. This event celebrated their outstanding commitment and hardwork, acknowledging their remarkable efforts in a distinguished manner. It not only honored their exceptional service but also highlighted the importance of recognizing and appreciating exemplary performance within the organization, fostering a culture of appreciation and motivation among the team members. During the event, Ex Com participated in a surprise fun activity.

During the Diwali celebrations, the team members led a cheerful puja in our staff restaurant followed by a special lunch. The offices were lit up and decorated to showcase the festival of lights-Diwali. The festive spirit filled the hotel with positivity, creating a ecstatic and memorable atmosphere for everyone.

Rangoli competition Colleagues from various departments “Competed to win” in Rangoli Competition They showcased their artistic talents, fostering a sense of camaraderie within the team. The event added a vibrant and colorful touch to the festive spirit. Our esteemed guests judged the competition and found it difficult to choose the winner. The spirit of participation was fabulous.

Ministry of Crab We are honored to have hosted one of the worlds most acclaimed chef and delighted to share his exquisite culinary creations with our guests. Shang Place was transformed into a sea food and Chinese culinary paradise as Chef Dharshan Munidasa from the Ministry of Crab graced us with his presence for an exclusive four days pop up event from 23rd November to 26th November. Our guest were treated to an extraordinary dining experience as they relished flavorful seafood creation used with traditional Chinese cuisine.

Kuch Khatta Kuch Meetha Activity

Our Red House (Sultan) organized frolicsome games on 30th November - Gol Gappa with a twist, Hanging Doughnuts and Lemon Squeeze. All the houses competed with lot of energy and enthusiasm. The fun games created an enjoyable atmosphere. From eating hanging doughnuts to partnering making and consuming Golgappas, the crowd to partnering making and consuming Golgappas, the crowd couldn't stop laughing and cheering for their favorite teams. The chefs tried their hands on pouring the squeezed lemon juice showcasing their F&B skills. The host team emerged to be the winner.

InterHotel Cricket Match We experienced the clash of luxury and athleticism as top hotels in Delhi, including Shangri-La, Lodhi Hotel, Le Meridien, The Leela, Taj Mahal and The Oberois, competed in a thrilling inter-hotel cricket match. Beyond the opulent lobbies, witnessed the teams vying for the title of the finest hotel cricket team in Delhi. The event promised a unique blend of glamour, sportsmanship, and friendly rivalry, showcasing a side of these renowned establishments beyond their impeccable hospitality. It was astonishing to see the elegance of hospitality meeting the thrill of the cricket field in this one-of-a-kind Inter-Hotel Cricket Match.

SLND secured Runners Up Position amongst the 8 participating hotels.

Coffee With Abhi Coffee with Abhi was hosted on December 11 for our Sales and Finance Team where our General Manager engaged in a meaningful discussion over coffee with the team members. This proactive initiative aimed to gather valuable feedback from our colleagues fostering an environment that is conducive to improved working conditions. The session not only enhances our role as an employer , but also helps in refining our employability skills.

Global Town Hall SLND team members attended Global Townhall on 18th December. Colleagues were happy to receive the update from our chairperson and they felt aligned with our Vision of being the best loved hospitality group and pioneering next horizons.This fosters a sense of community within the organisation.

The spirit of Christmas extended beyond the guest experience to embrace the dedicated staff. The hotel organized a heartwarming Christmas lunch, transforming the workplace into a festive haven. A delectable spread of seasonal delights created a joyful atmosphere, where the staff gathered to share laughter, indulging in delicious cuisine and strengthening bonds. This thoughtful tradition reflected Shangri-La Eros' commitment to creating a nurturing and celebratory environment, ensuring that the holiday spirit resonated throughout the entire hotel community. Fun games by Miracle Masters

Colleagues dived into the gaming adventure of Miracle Masters (Green House) on 26th December where team members experienced the excitement of Lucky Dip, the strategic dance of Flip Flip Flip, and the intense challenge of Count the Balls. Our participants precision, enthusiasm, and collaboration shone through in every move, creating a captivating gaming experience. Participants from all the houses actively contributed. Blue Force emerged as the winner.

Shangri-La Premier League 2.0 by Dum House

Gully Cricket was organised by Yellow House on 28th December after showcasing their sportsmanship during Inter Hotel Cricket competition. Our team members tried their hands on the gully cricket with a criteria of minimum one Lady Colleague in all the houses. The host team emerged as the winner.
