What a privilege it is to share how God is working on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Many of you know we live and serve at Čha ŋ kú Wašté Ranch, and Chad pastors the church down the road at Creator’s Fellowship. As we head into winter, we’re feeling both encouraged and energized by all The Lord is doing in and around us. Camp Ministry: This summer, under Sarah’s leadership as camp director, we saw record-breaking numbers. A total of 327 kids registered, with 284 attending camp at least one day—meaning 284 children in our community heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Our daily average was 110 kids. By the end of July, we were joyfully exhausted. Our theme was “Awesomely Made,” speaking God’s truth into the identity of each child: that they are created with purpose, and God doesn’t make mistakes. Through lessons, songs, and relationships, our prayer is that these kids will carry the truth of God’s love in their hearts, recalling scripture and worship even when camp is over. Wellness Ministry: This year, we’ve provided dental exams and cleanings for around 200 patients. We also completed vision pre-screenings at all 16 schools on the reservation, helping prioritize students for eye care when doctors are on site. As a result, we were able to distribute 719 pairs of free glasses to students and community members. Our prayer is that physical sight will open doors to conversations about spiritual sight—and the hope found in Jesus. Construction Ministry: This year we’ve had 24 teams serving alongside us. Countless projects were launched, completed, or are still in progress. One major milestone: expanding our main bunkhouse to better host volunteers. We increased capacity from 36 beds to 76, added six restrooms and four showers. The Violet Baptist men’s team played a foundational role in raising walls, running electric, and installing plumbing. We hope to open the expanded space for the 2026 season. In addition, we finished up a 3-bedroom home that was started last year, and two other smaller homes were built this year as well. FAMily Ministry: This is our newest lane of ministry, and it is designed to walk alongside families whose children have been removed from the home but are actively seeking restoration. Whether it’s helping with transportation, attending court hearings, or simply spending time with parents and children—our goal is to be a bright spot in their story. Our prayer is that the healing they seek will be rooted in a deeper desire for the Lord Jesus. Creator’s Fellowship Church: God continues to show us He’s still in the miracle business! Since June, we’ve celebrated 10 baptisms—let that sink in: 10 baptisms in just a few months. That’s close to the same number we’ve seen in the entire eight years we’ve been here.....how AWESOME is our God?!? With more people attending, we’ve had to purchase additional chairs and are now nearly at capacity. But we don’t just want to see people saved—we want to disciple them. So we launched our first-ever Sunday School class, diving deep into the basics of faith: Who is God? Who is Jesus? What is the Church? By God’s grace, this will be pivotal in our efforts to make disciples so that they would make disciples - who also make disciples, so that the revival the Lord has begun will spread throughout our Reservation until all of Pine Ridge knows personally the God who stood in their place on the cross!
