Physical Therapy Lagniappe Meet Wesley!

What an honor it is to be on this month’s newsletter! Despite being the new guy here at Elite PT, the crew has welcomed me into the family with open arms and amazing opportunities. Not only am I lucky to be in the wonderful profession of physical therapy, but I am also blessed to be here at Elite and work alongside some of the kindest and most knowledgeable in the field. I became interested in physical therapy while I was an undergraduate student at UL Lafayette. I was observing under a local PT from Marksville and fell in love with the profession! The amount of critical thinking, clinical decision making, patient interaction, and rapport building were all aspects I found invaluable to the profession. Upon graduation from UL Lafayette, I was accepted to the LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport Physical Therapy program in 2013, graduated there in 2016, and subsequently began my career here at Elite PT. Since September is generally regarded as back-to-school month, I have also decided to go back to school and further my education by beginning the process to become an orthopedic certified specialist (OCS). Through obtaining this specialization, I hope to gain the next level of clinical excellence in order to help my patients achieve their desired goals! But all work and no play makes Wes a dull, dull boy. When I am not treating patients or studying, you can find me out running the streets of Alexandria. I have been an avid runner for the last few years and have even completed three half-marathons. Eventually, I hope to complete a full marathon, but you can bet that I will still manage to find the time to watch some LSU and Ragin’ Cajun football!

All in all, I am extremely blessed to be in a profession that I love and be surrounded by friends and co-workers who enjoy it as much as I do here. From all of us here at Elite, thank you for choosing us to be your physical therapy provider. I hope that everyone has a fun and safe back-to-school season. GEAUX CAJUNS and GEAUX TIGERS!
