The horrors of war, however, were unimaginable. As destruction engulfed her homeland, Sara witnessed the anguish of families desperately searching for their loved ones amidst the rubble. The sounds of devastation haunted her, while memories of cherished places crumbled around her. In a heartbreaking moment, the roof of her home collapsed, forcing her family to flee through a gaping hole in the kitchen. Clutching her youngest brother, Sara led her siblings to safety, seeking refuge with their aunt as fear and uncertainty enveloped them. Despite the chaos, Sara clung to hope, envisioning a brighter future. After enduring weeks of hardship, her family was eventually approved for repatriation to the Philippines, marking the end of a harrowing chapter in their lives. Though they faced the trauma of their experiences, Sara's spirit remained unbroken.
