Programs for children Shake, Rattle & Read Storytime Join us Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. for a morning storytime to boost early literacy skills with songs, stories and movement! Best suited for parents or caregivers with children ages 2-6. Forest of Reading: Launches Jan. 10 The Forest of Reading ® is Canada’s largest recreational reading program! This program encourages children and youth ages 4-18 to read nominated Canadian titles and vote on their favourite in April! The Forest helps celebrate Canadian books, publishers, authors, and illustrators. Family Movie Fridays Watch a family-friendly movie, make crafts, and eat snacks with us after hours in the library! This program screens a new film at 6 p.m. on the second Friday of each month. Family Literacy Day: Jan. 27 Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family. Join us for special early years storytimes and an evening of after-school family fun! March Break: Oceans of Possibilities Dive into some good books and explore underwater creatures and habitats as we keep you entertained and engaged this March Break! Throughout this week, the library will have storytimes, guest presenters, maker stations, and more!
