the bond to the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, with the request that it be applied to Dr. Keller’s work in China. Earnest prayer is going up to God that he will multiply it ten thousand fold for every work to Which it has thus been and is being applied, wherever the story of the self-sacrifice of this home missionary is being told; and may God grant that the Chicago servant girl and the New Mexico “servant” girl may each have many, many stars in their crowns of rejoicing as the result. A subsequent letter from Mr. Steph ens of The Prayer League adds another chapter to the liberty bond story. When it came time to send the bond to the Bible Institute, some very pressing needs arose at the Prayer League head quarters, and it seemed that it would be necessary to use it for other pur poses. After a conflict of prayer how ever, the bond was mailed, trusting that God would supply the.other press ing needs. Two days after, the Lea gue received another liberty bond—-of $500. God’s promises are as good as ready money, if we trust. We hope there will be many more chapters added to the liberty bond story. The Bible Institute of Los Ange les stands in pressing need of many of them at the present moment. PREPARED WORKERS God was eighty years training Moses for the work of forty. John the Bap tist was thirty years preparing for the work of two; and the incarnate God was thirty years getting ready for the ministry of three. It seems to have been the life mission of good old Simeon to hold the infant Jesus a few moments in his arms and pronounce a glorious prophecy over Him, and he was eighty years preparing for these few moments. What we call prepara tion for a life work is often so utterly human and so stuffed with man-made theories as to, be a positive hindrance to the Holy Ghost.—Selected.

MOHAMMEDANISM Mohammedanism has broken with its historic past and its centralized leader ship, and is no longer a united religious body, but is rapidly breaking away from its traditional conservatism^ Tur key has for five centuries possessed the two outstanding centers of Islam for the world, the sacred shrine at Mecca and the seat of the Caliph. Both are now lost to it. The discouraged and disheartened Moslems of Turkey have the right to expect from the American Board and its missionaries that' they' now prepare to teach them the cop- tent, claims, and promises of our blessed Christianity. Here is a field peculiarly belonging to the American Board, in which from six to ten mil lions, and perhaps more, Mohamme dans dwell, who will be far more acces sible than Moslems have ever been before in that country. We cannot close our eyes to this responsibility and opportunity.—Missionary Herald. FAITHFULNESS AND RESULTS In an address by the sainted George Muller, in his 92d year, he related the following reminiscence: “I was once standing here about sixty-two years ago, preaching the Word of Life, and after I had done I was cast down because my words seemed to me so cold, so dull, so lifeless. And not till three months after did I hear that through that very address abundant blessing had been brought to nineteen different persons. “And precisely thus we shall find it in our labor and service in the end. Often and often it appears to us that the many opportunities made use of have been lost. Yet it will be seen that all was owned of God, all put down -in His book of remembrances; our labor, after all, was not in vain, and the reap ing time has come.”
