□ Many older orphans, like Nam Mee, are just learning how to play. Happiness, fun and play times are new experiences for them. Their memories contain no laughter. □ Refugee children, whose parents fled for their lives from Communist North Korea, are intimately acquainted with bitter cold, burning fever, gnawing hunger and wracking pain. They know what it means to sleep on the bare ground or in straw-thatched shacks where the rain leaks through and soaks thin clothing night after night, but they have not known happiness. □ For an orphan girl, under such conditions, life holds little prospect of anything better than menial drudgery, opium trafficking or prostitution but Nam Mee is one of

Q. In V.B.S. I notice that there is a theme for each department as well as an over-all theme. What is the purpose of this? A. The over-all theme, “God’s Word for My Life,” is clearly correlated with the departmental units. Teach ers and leaders will be pleased with the way the theme is woven into the lessons for each department. The general theme, however, also has strong promotional value for build ing attendance. All promotional and publicity materials are geared to the theme. A V.B.S. course can be a thrilling experience for you and all of your pupils enrolled. Q. Why not have one uniform course for all departments? It would, seem that such a plan would simplify the conduct of such a school. A. The ALL - BIBLE Courses are based on the principle of teaching each age group those portions of the Bible best suited to their under standing, interests, and spiritual needs. Any uniform lesson is never fully adaptable to all ages, especially the Nursery and Beginner depart ments. It is these younger groups who especially need solid teaching, for leading educators maintain that a child’s personality and character traits are practically determined by the time he is five. Pre-schoolers can learn and live out in daily experi ences few portions of God’s Word. They should have those that will profit them —not courses forced on them which are way over their heads. Q. How are Teaching Aid Kits to be used in V.B.S.? What do they con tain? A. Teaching Aid Kits are tailored for the Beginner, Primary, Junior, and Young Teen Departments. They contain a v a r ie ty of correlated teaching mediums, such as suede- backed figures, four-color pictures, charts, word cards, and maps — all

the more fortunate orphans. A missionary rescued her from such a fate by placing her in a World Vision orphanage where she can learn read ing, writing, sewing, cooking and other skills. She is learning to read the Bible also and to know Jesus as her Saviour. □ Through the World Vision Orphan Sponsorship Program, hundreds of people just like you are buying this kind of happiness for countless orphans who otherwise would be hopelessly abandoned. YOU and/or your group—your Sunday School class, Mission . J V : Society, — Social Service Club, fellow employees or a group of
