you away f r o m sinful people. “ W h e r e f o r e c om e o u t f r o m among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord” (II Cor. 6 : 17 ) . Sometimes owls, weasels and rattlesnakes live in the ground with the prairie dog. Prairie dogs do not want their fellowship, and would much rather that these in truders would not come to live with them. Somehow the prairie dog gets along with these unwel come guests, but the trouble is the rattlesnakes often eat the babies o f the prairie dogs. Throughout your life you will be around people who will try to keep you from living the Chris tian life, and you will have asso ciations that are not pleasant. Keep yourself free from them by letting the Lord Jesus be your Saviour and your guide. “ Neither be ye called masters: fo r one is your Master, even Christ” (Matt. 23 : 10) . Walk with the Lord, no matter what kind o f foes are around you. The owl likes to live with the prairie dog because the prairie dog has made a pleasant home and the bird wants to share it. Some people will want to take what you have, too, but be the kind o f person the Lord wants you to be, no matter what others may do or say. in colonies and en joy each other’s fellowship and association. That is natural. Christians like to be with Christians. Sinners like to be with sinners. Gamblers like to be with gamblers. Drunkards like to be with drunkards. So prairie dogs like to be with prairie dogs. They do not keep company with wolves and coyotes and d o g s . They like to be with one another. I f you are a real Christian, you will keep company with others who love the Lord Jesus, the Bi ble and Sunday school. “ Not fo r saking the assembling o f our selves together, as the manner o f some is; but exhorting one an other: and so much the more, as ye s e e t h e d a y approaching” (Heb. 10 : 25) . How this little fellow lives out in the desert, I do not know. There isn’t any water there, but he seems to get along without wa ter. I do not know how he does it. We could not do it. Chickens could not do it. Dogs could not do it. It may be that he feeds on roots— tree roots and grass roots o f all kinds — and perhaps he gets enough water out o f these green things to satisfy him. I have seen a picture o f sixteen hundred prairie dogs lying dead in a pile. Somebody p o i s o n e d them. They were digging up the ground and ruining the fields, so the farmers put out some poison food and the little animals ate it and died. The Lord wants you to be as watchful as the little prairie dogs. There are wicked boys and girls who would like to make you do wrong — break into houses, tear down signs and destroy property. A few minutes o f crash and bang may cause thirty or forty dollars’ worth o f damage fo r somebody to pay. Do not destroy property. Be on guard against enemies and when somebody wants to lead you astray, go to Father and Mother and tell them you want to stay away from wrong things. They will pray fo r you and help you. Believe on the Lord Jesus and live fo r Him, and be a fine Christian boy or girl. The Lord will keep

The men whose names are given above, in large measure, have had their day. Indeed, almost without exception, in the countries in which they original ly lived and wrote their theological treatises, they have been for the most part forgotten or superseded by other “ thinkers.” If history re peats itself, the next generation of American teachers and preachers will be arguing as to the merits or de merits of the still newer theological thought. This is tragic. It is fatal to downgrade and neglect the great eternal truths of the inspired Word of God, and to waste time bickering about the mental meanderings of hu man minds which, like the grass of the field, today is, and tomorrow withereth away. Our business is to proclaim God’s Word in all of its enduring beauty and convicting pow er. Let’s be about our business which is our Father’s business!
