Grant funds will expand scholarships, sponsor more Boys State participants, increase essay contest participation, and sustain the Boy Scouts program.
Caring Hearts of West Central Iowa enhances the quality of life for individuals by providing resources, safety, and support to families in crisis. Grant funding will support the crisis apartment program, offering temporary safe housing for families fleeing domestic violence or homelessness, and expand the backpack drive to ensure children have school supplies for success.
The Crawford County Fair Association promotes community events celebrating agriculture and youth involvement through projects like animal exhibits, photography, and baking. Grant funding will support the construction of a handicap-accessible restroom near the show ring, enhancing accessibility and creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Crawford County Hunger Fighters provides food assistance to children and families through a weekly backpack program for elementary students and monthly bulk food distributions. Grant funding supports the cost of delivering 364 snackpacks weekly to schools and distributing 47 tons of food to over 2,000 households annually.
Denison School District Dual Language Department celebrates cultural diversity through engaging student experiences. Grant funding will support a fall event on Latin American independence days with authentic food, crafts, and guest speakers, and a spring Dia de Los Niños/Dia de Los Libros celebration featuring cultural activities, crafts, and books for students.
