The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County will use this grant to support its Great Futures! program, providing social-emotional learning to 50 youth ages 6-12 during the 2024-2025 school year. Funds will cover staffing and materials for one-on-one and small group sessions that build emotional and social competencies.
Evergreen Community Initiative provides free clothing and basic necessities to low-income children in central Wisconsin through The Kids Closet. Funding will support the annual Monogram Loves Kids Back-to-School Bash in August, providing 300+ children with new shoes, socks, underwear, and hygiene items to build confidence and meet essential needs. Community Child Care Center provides care for children 6 weeks to 13 years in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Funding will support facility upgrades, including a dishwasher, lighting, and classroom improvements.
Giving Gardens grows fresh, organic produce to support food-insecure families through local food pantries and community programs. Funding will update and expand McKinley Elementary School’s garden, increasing its capacity from 6 to 10 raised beds, including a handicap- accessible bed, to provide diverse produce for 20 low-income and refugee families in the school's backpack program.
Portage County Health and Human Services Employees Foundation runs Kids Day at Camp which offers low-income children a unique outdoor experience with nature education, games, and team-building. Funding will cover camp fees and transportation for 60 children, promoting healthy living and social skills.
