Avigilon holds more than 750 U.S. and international patents and its high definition video products are used for surveil- lance in prisons, airports, government facilities, health-care centres, schools and casinos Greg Brown, the chairman and

CEO of Motorola Solutions said in a statement that, “This acquisition will bring Avigilon’s advanced video surveil- lance and analytics platform to the rapidly evolving public safety workflow, while also expanding our portfolio with new products.” Motorola Solutions currently sells police body cameras and two-way radios. This is the first time the company will wade into the video surveillance and analytics market.
