Snowmobile tourism is a growing part of Russell Township’s winter economy and township council will experiment with a temporary access crossing idea to accommodate snowmobilers. —archives THREE NEW BEDS AT WDMH, THANKS TO DONORS

The Winchester Memorial Hospital’s (WMDH) Complex Continuing Care Unit now has three new beds, courtesy of donors. “The new beds have many special features that are very beneficial for our patients and help make it easier for us to care for them,” said team leader Sean Burnett. The new beds have multiple benefits, including a built-in scale to monitor a patient’s weight changes and an alarm to alert nurses if an at-risk patient is getting out of bed. The beds come with a frame/ mattress extension, making them more comfortable for taller patients. The bedrails can also be adjusted according to the patient’s requirements. “This essential equipment purchase was made possible thanks to our donors and their care for the patients that we serve at WDMH,” said Kristen Casselman, managing director of the Foundation. The cost of the three beds was $34,724.12. —supplied photo
