a few people in the homeless and addiction community who have extremely interesting, creative skills, and I hope that we will be able to give spaces to them. Art is for all, and by all people.” As Nicky announces, she offers commission and provides limited signed art prints to those who cannot afford an original painting. Working with a specialized printer, Nicky values these means of ensuring that her art is accessible to a larger audience. This year, Nicky debuted in the Elgin County Studio Tour, which she reveals was her first connection to the local art community. “I hope that some of my works will make it into the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre in the future. I did have some pieces in The Art & Soul Café in Port Stanley in the past few months, and I may be invited to keep doing that. I am continually
focusing on expanding my circle of contacts in this area!” Visit Nicky’s website at iamnow.today for further information, and refer to her Facebook page at Nicky Decorte’s Art to connect with this passionate artist.
