Ultimately, this journey was embarked on for the memories: their young sons riding their toy cars through the previous meadow; neighbourhood children learning how to skate on their ice rink; hosting the Coates’ Cub Hockey Tournament with anticipated medals -- experiencing an array of celebrations and nourishing a strong sense of community in this magical space. Lynn beams, “Our backyard is our paradise!” Eldest son, Alex, expresses: “The backyard represents my parents. To transform it from a flat field to what it is today took incredible amounts of hard work, dedication, creativity and attention to detail -- all traits that they undoubtedly possess, and have instilled in both my brother and I.”
