Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current position and why you choose the field/ profession you are in today? I began practicing law in 2007 after completing a one- year legal clerkship with the

In 2010, I began focusing my practice on real estate and land use law after covering for a colleague who went out on leave because I found the work both interesting and challenging. What unique qualities and/or personality do you feel makes you most suc- cessful in your profession? I am a people person, and have found a good balance between being friendly or firm depending on what the situa- tion calls for. I’m also bilingual, which I have found to be very helpful in this field. Who do you feel was most influential in your life when choosing this profession? My mother spent her entire career in the real estate field on the lender side, and I was always fascinated by the deals she was working on. What outside activities do you enjoy during your free time? I enjoying reading, knitting, crafting, and being my 7 year old’s chauffer and social calen- dar coordinator. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young executive graduating from college today? I cannot stress the impor- tance of networking enough. Networking will help you build your professional contacts, and be a great source of referrals and work. It will take a while to build professional relationships so remember to take your time and keep at it. MAREJ
