MPI Label Systems Acquires Label Gallery reported by Greg Kishbaugh M PI Label Systems has acquired Label Gallery, Inc., a flexo- graphic and digital printer in Norwich, New York, a com- pany that specializes in the pharmaceutical, wine & spirits, and food markets. Label Galler y was founded in 1993 by Chr is and Ana Ulatowski. Chris was a sales representative for another printer at the time, and Ana worked as a designer. They used their ex- perience to start a company focused on customer service pro- viding an array of labels.

drupa 2020 Dates Moved

The dates for drupa 2020 were moved by one week and the trade fair for printing technologies will now be held from Tuesday, June 16 to Friday, June 26, 2020 in Düssel- dorf, Germany. This was agreed by the drupa Committee and Messe Düsseldorf at their meeting on Feb- ruary 15. The key argument for this decision is the fact that in some Eu- ropean countries as well as in Ger- many the summer holidays would have already started during the ini- tially planned dates (June 23 - July 3, 2020). By changing the dates, Messe Düsseldorf is responding to requests from both exhibitors and visitors. According to the research findings from Future Market Insights’ report, titled Smart Labels Market: Global Industry Analysis and Opportunity Assessment, 2016–2026 , nearly 400,000 thousand units of smart la- bels sold globally in 2016 were ac- counted by Radio-Frequency Smart Labels To Hit $22.6B

“Our focus on customer service and our commitment to ‘Printing Problem Solved’ has always been the driving force behind my team and we see this great tradition of excellence continuing as we move forward as part of the MPI team,” said Chris Ulatowski, owner of Label Gallery.

The company utilizes DuPont Cyrel FAST digital platemaking for its prepress needs, “We are excited to add Label Gallery, Inc. to the MPI family to strengthen our position in the Northeast with additional flexo and digital capabilities,” said Randy Kocher, President of MPI Label Systems. “We share the same values of high quality and exceptional customer service, giving our customer what they want, when they want it, and how they want it.” Ulatowski will assume the role of general manager for MPI Labels of NewYork / Label Gallery and will continue to offer a complete range of label solutions using the latest flexographic and digital technologies. Headquartered in Sebring, Ohio, MPI has 11 manufacturing locations in North America and more than 500 employees.

Pressure Labels Market To Grow To $92.46 Billion The pressure labels market size is estimated to grow from $74.14 billion in 2015 to $92.46 billion by 2020, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 4.52 percent, according to a new report from Marketsand- Markets. The technological advancements and indus- trialization combined with an increasing population in developing economies and increasing demand by various end-user industries such as food & beverage, consumer durables, pharmaceutical and home & per- sonal care are the major factors driving the growth of the pressure labels industry. Increasing Demand Factors such as increasing demand in Asia-Pacific, growing demand from the pharmaceutical sector, and wide application of pressure labels in diverse in- dustries drive the pressure labels market. However, rising raw material costs act as a restraint for the market. Growth of the food & beverages, con- sumer durables, pharmaceutical, and home & personal care industry in the developing and under-developed regions provides an opportunity to the pressure labels market to grow even further. The food & beverages segment is projected to be the fastest-growing end-user industry in the next five years. Furthermore, due to the growth of the pres- sure labels industry, pressure labels such as release liner labels and linerless labels are extensively used. The pressure labels market is also projected to wit- ness growth in the consumer durables, pharmaceuti- cal, home & personal care, and retail labels sectors, during the forecast period. Leading The Market The release liner labels segment is estimated to contribute the largest market share, whereas linerless labels, at the highest CAGR, will play a key role in changing the pressure labels landscape during the forecast period. The Asia-Pacific region leads the market due to its large population and its proven identity of a major manufacturing hub that offers production opportuni- ties at affordable costs to companies. As pressure la- bels are used widely by different industries, such as food & beverages, consumer durables, pharmaceuti- cal, and home & personal care, the Asia-Pacific re- gion, which is witnessing major growth in these sectors as well, has become a large market for these labels. This is followed by Europe, which is the next largest market for pressure labels followed by North America and Rest of theWorld.
