EPA Method 300.1 Determination of Inorganic Anions in Drinking Water by Ion Chromatography
Treatment of the sample with strong base may reduce the loss of bromide and nitrite if added soon after the sample has been treated with disinfectants. There are several columns that are commercially available that will allow for the analysis of both Part A & B analytes. We have had great success using the AS22 column from Thermo or the Metrosep A Supp 5 column from Metrohm.
Modern IC instrumentation may allow for smaller injection volumes especially when using capillary columns.
You can gain a higher confidence in your check solutions by using a second-source standard compared to the standards used to construct your calibration curve.
