Commercial Real Estate Organization Experiences Most Successful Year to Date As New Year Approaches, TriState Commercial Alliance Reflects on Successful 2012

C ONSHOHOCKEN, PA — As TriState Commercial Alliance looks to cement its role as the premier commercial real estate organization for REALTORS ® and brokers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, members are optimistic that 2013 will be just as successful as the past year has been. In 2012, the organization, which caters to the professional needs of the region’s commercial real estate professionals through legislative advocacy, commercial-specific education, networking opportunities and other resources, has experienced its most successful year since being founded almost two decades ago. FOUNDING OF NJ COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE SCHOOL — At the start of the year, TriState announced the launch of The Commercial Real Estate School of New Jersey. Founded in response to the New Jersey Real Estate Commission’s new requirements for continuing education, the school is a unique offering that brings extraordinary value to members, who receive discounted enrollment. Utilizing a model that had proven successful in Pennsylvania and Delaware, TriState’s New Jersey school offers specialized courses that fall within the core and elective topics required by the state. The Commercial Real Estate School of New Jersey debuted in late February with a well-attended course titled, Cost Segregation For The Commercial Broker, which provided attendees with a comprehensive tutorial on how to use cost segregation analysis to help create more value for their client base. In March, interest in the school continued to grow when TriState hosted a course titled, Code of Ethics and Land Use. GOLF OUTING — In July, TriState brought members of the region’s commercial real estate community together for a day on the links. Held in conjunction with the PA/NJ/DE Chapter of CCIM, the organization’s 16th Annual Golf Outing was held on July 16 at the famed Llanerch Country Club in Havertown, Pa. The well-attended event featured a buffet lunch, cocktails, dinner, raffle prizes and an awards ceremony. Additionally, throughout the event, a silent auction was held to benefit ACHIEVEability, a nonprofit organization that values education and accountability in helping needy families achieve self-sufficiency. NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR — In September, TriState announced that Elvira Illiano- Trovato had been appointed to serve as the organization’s Executive Director. In this role, Illiano-Trovato oversees the day-to-day operations and marketing of the organization. Prior to being promoted to Executive Director, Illiano-Trovato served the dual role of Membership Coordinator and Director of the Commercial Real Estate School. WILMINGTON WALKING TOUR — In November, TriState explored the ongoing renaissance of the City of Wilmington during the organization’s Delaware Joint Meeting and Walking Tour. Held in conjunction with CIRC, CCIM and SIOR, the event was held at World Café Live and included a tour of the city’s Lower Market Street redevelopment area. Guest speakers included Wilmington Mayor-Elect Dennis P. Williams and Hal Real, founder and president of Real Entertainment/World Café Life. “From expanding our presence in New Jersey to bolstering our position in Pennsylvania and Delaware, 2012 has been an extremely successful year for TriState Commercial Alliance,” Illiano- Trovato said. “As membership continues to grow in all three states, so does the strength of the organization. We anticipate that 2013 will provide further opportunity to grow the organization and solidify its role as the leading advocate for the region’s commercial real estate professionals.” To learn about becoming a member of TriState or to sign-up for an upcoming event, please call Member Services and Events Director Michelle Winkler Milone at 610-238-9950 or email mwinkler@tristaterca.com.
