from your homeowners insurance company or your business insur- ance company following the im- pact of Hurricane Sandy. There are priorities that I will identify in this informational bulletin: 1. Locate and secure all your individual and business insur- ance policies. If you do not have them, contact your insurance bro- ker or agent to secure a copy; 2. Take photographs of all exterior and interior damage with date stamps on your pho- tographs; 3. If you must dispose of dam- aged property, create a list of each itemwith a photograph and a description, and the date of original purchase and purchase price. Purchase receipts are your best evidence of value; 4. If you have photographs of your property, interior and exte- rior, taken before this hurricane, preserve these for comparative purposes; 5. Contact your insurance agent or broker to report the damages which you have suffered and to initiate the claims process; a section of the Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal P.O.
