a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing, collaboration and genuine customer connection — reinforcing that memorable festival experiences begin behind the bar and in the food tents.
The Summer in Dodges Ferry and Park Beach brings a huge influx of visitors, creating both opportunity and pressure for local cafés. Through the Great Customer Experience Program, Hospitality Tasmania has been working directly with the cafés in Dodges Ferry to support teams as they prepare for and operate through their busiest period of the year. A recent highlight was delivering a venue awareness session at Beach Bums Café, working alongside owners Muskan and Sushil and their dedicated team of family members and employees. The session focused on practical customer experience strategies for peak summer trade — from managing queues and communication during rush periods to maintaining warmth, consistency and connection when the pace is fast.
THE HOSPITALITY WORKERS AT PARTY IN THE PADDOCK
This support is made possible through the generosity of Hospitality Tasmania’s corporate partners PFD Food Services and Coca-Cola, who are proudly backing the hospitality workforce by providing food and drinks for the staff celebration at the conclusion of the festival. Their contribution reflects a shared commitment to supporting the people at the heart of the hospitality industry and recognising the vital role they play in delivering outstanding visitor experiences. As the summer season continues, our focus remains on helping hospitality businesses thrive — supporting local operators, strengthening teams, and ensuring visitors leave with great memories of Tasmania!
