Lutruwita/Tasmania is set for an influx of interstate and international visitors in the coming weeks, with 28 business events set to disperse over 6000 delegates across the state before the end of March. Many of these events have been supported by the Tasmanian Government’s Business Events Attraction Fund (BEAF) which remains a critical tool in converting business events into the state. A standout event during this period is the Australian Institute of Radiography Conference (ASMIRT2026), which will bring around 1000 national and international medical professionals to Hobart from 26-29 March. Further north, delegates will head to Devonport for the World Guernsey Conference from 10- 11 March. This event will play a crucial role in
spotlighting Tasmania’s high-value, sustainable dairy production industry. In addition to the main proceedings, Devonport and surrounds will play host to sections of the pre- and post-conference tour. Outside of these two business events, Launceston will also welcome over 250 delegates across three conferences – with the first China-Australia Symposium on Crop Stress Physiology and Climate Adaptation, to be held from 9-14 March, set to attract a strong international delegation. With 28 per cent of delegates travelling with at least one other person and extending their stay beyond the event itself, it unlocks greater business and tangible benefits for local suppliers, venues, and service providers throughout the state.
