Artist Statement I enjoy painting in my sun-filled home studio, with a panoramic view of Tucson Mountain Park. I use primarily acrylic paints and media, embellished with charcoal, graphite, watercolor pencils and water media crayons. world around us. Drawing, painting and mixed-media have enthralled Barbara since childhood. Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Colorado, she has made her career in art and design. She has sold works in diverse media including painting, drawing, ceramics, metals and warm glass. Barbara’s non-representational, acrylic paintings come together in layers of vibrant and muted colors over a compositional structure sketched directly and intuitively on the canvas. She is inspired by the contrasts of shape and line and enjoys several types of mark-making in many of her works.
