February is a month where heart awareness is highlighted not only because of the love but also because February is American Heart Month. According to the CDC 1 in every 3 deaths in the United States are related to cardiovascular disease. Many times heart diseases are associated with genetics or aging. Although these are factors in heart disease, there are cases where if a person suffering from a cardiac illness would have taken preventative measures or known what to look for the situation could be different. Some of the signs associated with heart disease are chest pain, increased fatigue, nausea or vomiting regularly, palpitations, sudden left arm pain and shortness of breath. It is highly recommended annual exams with primary care physicians are completed and if there are any concerns to call your doctor don’t wait. Taking preventative measures can lead to early detection and allow your care team to develop a care plan suitable for your life. Using this skills lab and classroom, we provide caregivers with the highest quality of hands-on skills training combined with extensive caregiving knowledge, establishing a strong foundation for success for both the caregiver, their loved ones, and/or their future clients.
