And there’s also the Robert De Niro set- tlement! When this famous American actor hitchhiked through Serbia in the late 1960s, his travels also brought him to the banks of the Drina, in Banja Ko- viljača, close to the Sunčana Reka Eth- no Village. He spent the night beside the Drina, and this beautiful river made such an impression on him that he even named his daughter Drina. And as a sign of gratitude for him presenting the Drina to the world in the most beautiful light, a settlement that bears his name has been developed in this ethno village.

This ethno village is located 200 kilometres from Belgrade, but you’ll get the impression when you arrive here that time has stood still. Repurposed old cabins, complete with small windows and square curtains, faithfully depict the spirit of bygone times. No one would believe upon first seeing them that tastefully decorat- ed apartments are hidden inside. Each of the cabins is named after some fruit. So, raspberry, blackberry, plum, quince, apple and pear substitute for classic hotel room numbers and offer
the unique opportunity to experience the traditional lifestyle of these lands. Here you can try homemade food and drinks, made from ingredients grown in the surrounding villages and fresh- ly harvested.
