I FOUND A NEW MENTOR!

Maybe He Can Help You, Too

2023 FEB

If you’ve been reading my newsletters for a while, then you know I

1. We all have a story to tell.

2. Often, the thing we think disqualifies us to teach or lead is what actually qualifies us the most!

consider myself a “forever learner.” I’m always looking for new ways to grow as a person, leader, and business owner! I read business books, attend industry events, join masterminds, and work with my business master coach, Nick Davies, to up my game. Whatever I do, it’s never enough, so I’m always on the lookout for something new. A few months ago, I found it while listening to one of my favorite podcasts, “The Ed Mylett Show.”

3. The trials, tribulations, and other difficult things we’ve gone through in our lives can be used for good, if we help people who are in the same position as our previous selves. Rory’s clear-headed, compassionate take on life and business really hit home. When he talked about homing in on your message, your ideal customer, and a “why” that really moves you, I felt like he was speaking directly to me! As soon as he finished explaining the system his team uses to help companies grow at BBG, I was sold. I signed up to become a member right away. As I write this, I’m still in phase one of my BBG journey with my coach, but I can tell that BBG’s resources will be a huge help to me and my Chiro1Source team. I’m already using what I’ve learned to better serve the chiropractors we work with, and I’m looking forward to finding new ways to help you increase your bottom line and improve your patients’ health more quickly. This partnership is going to be a win-win for both of us! In the future, I hope to have even more resources for you with help from BBG, such as consulting packages and a podcast specifically for chiropractors (keep an eye out for that in the next few months!). For now, though, I definitely recommend checking out BBG’s membership options if you’re working on buildling your brand. They have tons of virtual events, virtual trainings, a resource library, and even one-on-one coaching options. To learn more about BBG, open up this newsletter and read my chat with their founding strategist and director of strategic growth, Elle Petrillo. She has a special strategy call offer just for my newsletter readers! You can also check it out by following the QR code on this page.

Ed had a special guest on the show that day: Rory Vaden of Brand Builders Group (BBG). Rory is a New York Times bestselling author, a Speaker Hall of Fame member, a top 100 podcaster in the business space, and an eight- figure entrepreneur. He shared three messages in the episode that really resonated with me.

Your Intellectual Wellness Matters! These days, as taking care of our health becomes more important than ever, we hear a lot about our physical wellness and how to improve it using nutritious foods and exercise.

A Q&A SCORE A

As you read on the cover of this newsletter, I’ve fallen head over heels for Brand Builders Group (BBG). I love that they help business owners like me prioritize giving back, and I’m a big fan of their clear, four- phase process for brand building and business growth.

But what about our intellectual wellness?

WHAT IS INTELLECTUAL WELLNESS? The University of New Hampshire defines intellectual wellness as “being open to new ideas, thinking critically, and finding ways to be creative.”

Essentially, this means thinking about the world around you with an open mind and putting energy into what you’re thinking, not just allowing your brain to run idly.

To help you learn a bit more about those things and how they can benefit chiropractors like you, I sat down with Elle Petrillo, BBG’s founding strategist and director of strategic growth. She offered some great advice for anyone struggling to build a reputation and bring in new patients. I hope you enjoy our Q&A!

Signs of healthy intellectual wellness include:

• Ability to see an issue from all sides • Purposeful exposure to ideas, beliefs, and people who differ from yourself • Awareness of your core values • Capacity to learn new things

HOW TO FOSTER AND DEVELOP INTELLECTUAL WELLNESS Intellectual wellness differs from

Q: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE WORK BBG DOES FOR BUSINESS OWNERS? A: We partner with experts in their space to help them become more well-known online and offline as well as how to leverage their personal brands to drive more revenue, spread their message, create impact, and establish more credibility in their industry. … We really only work with clients who have a big mission and vision for impact. They want to help people, and making money is a byproduct.

other types of well-being. You need to work hard and challenge yourself to stay intellectually healthy. If you’re looking to improve or nurture your intellectual wellness, here are three ways to do it. 1. Learn a new skill. One of the main components of intellectual wellness is working to acquire more knowledge. This doesn’t need to be physics or engineering but can be something as simple as cooking a new healthy recipe, learning to draw, or attempting a DIY home repair project. The important part is that mastering something new provides an information-based approach to the world around you.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR NO. 1 BRANDING TIP FOR CHIROPRACTORS?

A: I think one important key to remember is that everyone already has a personal brand. Your personal brand is the digitization of your reputation, so you are either directly curating your brand and being intentional with it, or you’re letting others

2. Remove subjectivity. We view every situation with a pre-formed opinion or bias. The truth is our brains are wired this way to streamline thinking, but to be intellectually healthy, we must work hard to push past it. Remove subjectivity by learning a different way to perform a task or challenge yourself to understand (or simply read) the ideas of others. Be objective, even when you disagree with them.

3. Improve your critical thinking. Next time you’re engrossed in conversation, try being thoroughly engaged and think about what is being said. Ask questions to yourself and others, and hash out what you agree with and things you don’t. Work to keep your brain active in everything you do by finding a connection to everything around you.

into your entire customer journey. For example, I saw a chiropractor, and after six months of working together, I came in for X-rays and to see my progress. That’s when they asked for my testimonial because they knew I had made a lot of progress at that point.

Q: WHAT BIG MISTAKE DO CHIROPRACTORS MAKE IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING REPUTATION? A: Our reputation formula is Reach x Results = Reputation. … Most of us have spent our entire careers focused on the results we can get, the credibility factors we have, and curating the things about us that are impressive. We focus so much on that, but there’s this whole other aspect: Reach! Who actually knows about you? If people don’t know who you are and what you offer, they can’t come to you! That’s where testimonials come in. They are the No. 1 factor in whether or not someone chooses you while making buying decisions. Q: WHAT’S YOUR ADVICE FOR GENERATING MORE HIGH- QUALITY TESTIMONIALS? A: To get better testimonials, you need to be really intentional about what questions you’re asking the person so that their responses tie back to your sales process. Then, it’s really about getting in the heads of your target audience. What do they want? What do they need? What do they care about? What are their biggest questions? You need to make sure you’re addressing those things in the testimonials you gather.

Q: WHAT ARE BBG’S FOUR PHASES OF BRAND‑BUILDING?

A: Branding, marketing, selling, and scaling. They go in a specific order, not because you can’t be in all phases at once but because it’s possible to do the right thing at the wrong time. Did you know that out of all professions, most Americans (61%) feel it’s most important for their doctors to have an established personal

Relieving Headaches With Natural Remedies 4

Chronic headaches and migraines seem to strike at the worst times. If you suffer from frequent migraines, you’re familiar with canceling dinner plans last minute or leaving work early due to throbbing head pain, nausea, and discomfort. The worst part is that many medications don’t help; the only true cure is rest, darkness, and time. However, the next time a migraine strikes, try a natural remedy. These three natural products are safe, inexpensive, and have little to no side effects. RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B-2) According to the National Center for Complimentary and Integrative Health, 400 milligrams of riboflavin daily is proven to be beneficial in reducing migraines in both adults and children. Riboflavin occurs naturally in dairy milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, chicken breast, and salmon or can be purchased over the counter as a supplement. MAGNESIUM As one of the most prevalent minerals in our bodies, magnesium can help treat chronic headaches and migraines. According to WebMD, studies have proven that those who suffer from migraines tend to have 3 SUPPLEMENTS TO TRY Preventing Migraines the Natural Way

lower levels of magnesium than those who do not. Furthermore, some scientists believe that the mineral can block the chemicals in the brain that trigger pain and specific signals responsible for the auras (changes in vision or other senses) that many experience during a migraine. MELATONIN Melatonin, a hormone secreted by your brain’s pineal gland, has been proven to reduce the frequency and length of migraines. Those who suffer from chronic migraines have abnormally low melatonin levels, so taking melatonin supplements at bedtime is likely to help prevent nagging headaches and migraines. To prevent your next throbbing headache, it may be worth giving one of these safe and natural supplements a try after consulting your health care provider! After all, what do you have to lose?
