Labor Relations and Negotiations
This book is intended to serve as a basic textbook for the professional major subject, Labor Relations and Negotiations, in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program, as outlined by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 17, s. 2017. The discussions of various topics are designed to help students achieve a clearer and deeper understanding of otherwise complicated concepts in Labor Relations and Negotiations. Various activities and evaluative exercises are included in each chapter to gauge and assess the students’ progress as they navigate the topics in the textbook.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Atty. Cecilio D. Duka He is a well-known lawyer, educator, and prolific writer who has authored 12 books and co-authored three in the fields of labor law, constitutional law, public international law, education, history, philosophy, and other disciplines. He is a sought-after lecturer in Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) for lawyers and Bar Review, handling Labor Law, Constitutional Law, Public International Law, and Legal Ethics subjects. He is also a lecturer in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and Civil Service review programs nationwide. He serves as a distinguished resource speaker at various seminars and conferences in law, education, history, and social sciences, both nationally and internationally. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from San Sebastian College of Law, a Doctor of Education, and a Master of Arts in Education from the National Teachers College. He completed his Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Sciences at the National Teachers College, graduating magna cum laude. Before his appointment as dean of the College of Education at the University of Makati, he actively practiced labor law, criminal law, and civil law. He has held various teaching and administrative positions at San Sebastian College Institute of Arts and Sciences, Arellano University School of Law, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila School of Law, Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Law, Far Eastern University Institute of Arts and Sciences, and The National Teachers College. He was appointed dean of the College of Education at the Philippine Women’s University at the age of 26. Atty. Duka is happily married to Carol R. Duka and is blessed with two daughters and two sons.
