By establishing and naming an endowment in perpetuity to support scholarships, programs or faculty, you help advance JMU’s mission of preparing students to be educated and enlightened citizens who lead productive and meaningful lives.
ENDOWED ANNUAL GIFT AWARD
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Dukes Pay It Forward Endowed Scholarship The income from this endowment will create a scholarship award for students with limited financial resources. The scholarship can be renewed for up to three years as long as the student remains academically and financially eligible. General Use Scholarship Endowment Establish a flexible scholarship that can be awarded at the discretion of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. This endowment can also be used to establish athletic scholarships. Restricted Scholarship Endowment Create a scholarship to be awarded based on donor-defined criteria that are within the university’s guidelines. Examples of such criteria include specific degree majors, financial need or certain academic requirements. This endowment can also be used to establish athletic scholarships.

FACULTY SUPPORT
Endowed Faculty Chair Endowed faculty chairs enable the university to recruit and retain the most outstanding professors. Income from the endowment provides a salary supplement as well as research and program support. Awarded by the provost based on specific restrictions designated by donors within university guidelines. Endowed Distinguished Professorship Distinguished professorships supplement professors’ salaries and give them support for their research, program and professional development. Awarded by the provost based on specific restrictions designated by donors within university guidelines. Endowed Professorship Recognize professors by supplementing their salaries and giving them support for research, program and professional development. Awarded at the discretion of the dean. Endowed Faculty Fellowship Support faculty research, curriculum development, travel to conferences and professional meetings to present their work, and essential professional development activities. Awarded at the discretion of the dean. Faculty Support Endowment Support the faculty with an award based on specific restrictions designated by the donor that are within the university’s guidelines General Use Faculty Support Endowment Income from this endowment is available to the Office of the Provost, university dean or designee to be spent at their discretion to meet the highest priority needs for faculty support each year.
