$ 399 00 15399 Reloading Dies and Caliber Conversions sold separately BL550 Dillon’s Basic Loader
^
Capable of loading over 160 calibers – just like the RL550 – it uses any manufacturer’s standard 7/8” x 14 reloading dies. It’s priced comparably with other manufacturers’ turret presses; yet unlike them, it’s fully upgradeable to Dillon’s Progressive RL550 loader! The interchangeable toolhead ( Page 13 ) makes it quick, easy and inexpensive to change calibers. AUTO PRIME SYSTEM ^ 16627 $130.00 PRIMER SYSTEM EARLY WARNING ^ Allows you to focus on loading instead of worrying about failing to seat a primer, and is an easy slip-on attachment to the auto prime system. 20302 $40.00 AUTO POWDER SYSTEM ^ Accurate to within 0.1 grain, our Automatic Powder Measure is world renowned for its charge-to-charge consistency. 20251 $170.00 OPTIONAL MAGNUM RIFLE POWDER BAR 21353 $50.00 AUTO EJECT SYSTEM ^ Greatly increases your ammo production capabilities and adds a Cartridge Chute/ Bracket and a Cartridge Bin to your reloader. 22120 $49.00 BL550 POWDER DIE ^ Extra powder dies for your BL550 make it easier to set up additional toolheads for loading different calibers. Powder Die: 16629 $30.00 Oversize Die: 16626 35.00 Plastic Funnel: 16617 10.00 POWDER MEASURE ADAPTER If you load rifle cartridges with long-grain extruded powder, you can now use any manufacturer’s powder measure with 7/8” x 14 threads on your RL450, AT500, BL550 or RL550. (Requires the use of an RL450 powder die – see below.) 20029 $35.00 RL450 Powder Die 20308 40.00 Of course, Dillon will replace the part for free, but right now you’d hock the “family jewels” for one of those slippery little 50¢ silver balls! Does that scenario sound about like the kind of luck you have? If so, you might be able to save yourself a few headaches and several systolic blood pressure points by investing in a spare parts kit for your Dillon reloading machine. These kits include all the parts that are most likely to become damaged or get misplaced, and they only cost $40.00 for the RL550C, $40.00 for the Square Deal B, $55.00 for the XL750, $65.00 for the Super 1050, and $65.00 for the RL1100. It may seem absurd to spend money for parts that are guaranteed for life, but think about the above scenario…what good is a free part that’s halfway across the continent when you need it the night before a big match, or a once-in-a-lifetime hunting trip? If “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” the price of an entire Spare Parts Kit is cheaper than a $100 Standard Overnight charge on a 50¢ part any day. Order one today, and put it someplace where you’ll re- member where it is when you need it! (Mine is hanging

D illon’s RL550 has long worn the title of “The World’s Most Versatile Progressive Reloader,” and stripping it down to its most basic form – Dillon’s BL (Basic Loader) 550 – adds a whole new dimension of versatility for the shooter/hunter who needs to feed several rifles. The BL550 is essentially an RL550 without the automatic priming and powder systems.
A Few “Ounces of Prevention”
By Mark Pixler Here it is, about 9:30 Friday night, you had to work late, and you’ve been putting off loading 9mm for quite a while now. You’re checking your gear for tomorrow’s match and when you look in your Border Shift Ammo Bag, you realize that the “empties” side is full and the “loaded” side is empty. Oops! Aah, it’s no problem, really; you can just sit down at the ol’ Dillon and crank out a few hundred rounds to get you through the match. Except… it’s still set up for .45 Colt. That Cowboy match last month…remember? Oh well, it’ll only take a couple of minutes to swap the shellplate and toolhead. But, as you finish unscrewing the shellplate, the unthinkable happens; you somehow launch the index ball out of the platform and it rolls across the bench, bounces off your knee, you punt it into the air and it lands in that bottomless crack in your garage floor! You remember that your brother-in-law has one of those machinist’s magnets, but he hasn’t spoken to you since that ugly incident at the barbecue…besides, you’re not sure exactly where the little ball entered the bottomless crack.
